We had a great turnout for our Halloween themed fall family night. Thank you to all of the students and families that joined us for a fun evening. A poetry walk along one wall of our gym included a poetry walkfamilieslobbycraftsmathmath 2jokescostumesmath 2families 2variety of Halloween themed poems, riddles, and jokes. Math activities involved finding, counting, and coloring Halloween related pictures, comparing numbers, a recipe for witch's brew involving fractions, and various calculations. Three craft choices were making "stained glass" hanging Halloween decorations using tissue papers. We also had blow up decorations that could be used as a photo background. Students signed up for a raffle to win a gift basket from the book fair and had an opportunity to make an estimated guess of how many candy corn was in a pumpkin container. Whoever has the closest guest will win it. Parents also signed up for a raffle for Hannaford gift cards. Bags of popcorn and bookmarks were given out as everyone left the event. The book fair was also open to the families. A huge thank you to Linda Albert, Shelley Farrington, Julie Hale, Carrie Lyons, and Danielle McNally for all the hard work before, during, and after the event.
